Crusader Arms is an Ontario-based manufacturer that launched the Crusader 9 platform in late 2021 as a parts-kit-or-complete-rifle pistol-caliber carbine derived from the AR-180B operating principle. The company built a small product line around the same monolithic upper — Crusader 9 in 9mm, Templar in 5.56, Crucible in 7.62×39, CRUX in .308 — covering most of the calibre footprint Canadian sport shooters worked through. Pricing put the Freedom Package below $1,400 CAD and the assembled rifle below $1,700; the company called the entry-level kit "Freedom Package" precisely because the kit-based delivery worked around the supply-chain costs that pushed competing platforms higher. SOR/2024-248 named the entire Crusader line on December 5, 2024, three years after the platform debuted. The Crusader 9 was the most recently launched Canadian-manufacturer entry on the Index until the SRV2 Badger; both are Already Gone within twelve months of each other.
