Verdict
The CZ 600 Range is CZ's 2021 successor to the long-running CZ 550 and CZ 557 platforms. The Range variant is the precision-oriented sub-variant of the 600 family — 24-inch heavy barrel, three-lug bolt with 60° lift, modular barrel-and-bolt-head system that swaps between cartridge families at the assembly level. Canadian precision shooters have been progressing from the CZ 550 to the 600 since 2022; the Range variant sits between the budget-tier Howa 1500 (Batch 4) and the premium-tier Sako S20 in the Canadian precision-bolt-action ladder. The rubric reads it 1/15 — bolt-action, common calibre, no flag features, no prohibited family, no policy momentum. The Index keeps it because the CZ 600 line is becoming the recommendation for Canadian first-precision-rifle buyers, and the rubric correctly identifies it as outside the SOR criteria's reach.
