Verdict
The Henry Long Ranger is the modernized lever-action that the brand introduced in 2016 — a departure from Henry's traditional pistol-caliber lever rifles. The Long Ranger uses a rotary-bolt locking system and a detachable four-round box magazine to handle modern centrefire-rifle calibres (.243, .308, 6.5 Creedmoor, .223), which the traditional tubular-magazine lever-action couldn't safely chamber. American walnut stock, brass receiver elements, hammer-forged barrel — the rifle reads as a traditional Henry until you look at the calibre options. The Index keeps the entry because it covers the lever-action category — a rubric class that scores 1/3 on action class but typically zeros across the other dimensions, landing solidly Low. The Long Ranger is also a working example of how the lever-action format can be modernized without picking up SOR-criteria-relevant features.
