Verdict

The K&M Arms M17S family is the modernized successor to the Bushmaster M17S bullpup of the 1990s (the original Bushmaster M17S has its own entry under Bushmaster, Batch 3). K&M Arms reissued and improved the design with a forward-ejection mechanism that solved the original M17S's ambidextrous-shooting problem. Available in 5.56 NATO (M17S, M17S-C compact) and .308 Winchester (M17S308, M17S-C308) chamberings. SOR/2024-248 named the entire K&M Arms M17S family on December 5, 2024 alongside the original Bushmaster M17S — both ends of the M17S design lineage prohibited in the same Order.
