Verdict
The PM84 (Glauberyt) is the Polish military's standard submachine gun, adopted by Polish armed forces and law-enforcement in 1984 and manufactured by the Polish State Arsenals (Łucznik-Radom). The civilian semi-automatic export variants reached Canadian retailers in the 2010s in small quantities — the Canadian Non-restricted configuration used the 18.6-inch barrel and the pinned 10-round magazine. SOR/2024-248 named the PM84 on December 5, 2024 alongside Poland's other commercial firearms export to Canada: the Radom Grot service rifle (Batch 7) and the Lucznik BRS99 PCC. Poland's commercial firearms-export presence in the Canadian market — three named platforms — was effectively shut down by the December 2024 OIC. The 9×18mm Makarov chambering on the PM84 is the only Index entry in that calibre; otherwise the platform reads as a typical Cold War-era European service SMG semi-auto export — analogous to the Sterling MARK 4 / 5 (Batch 9), the Polish counterpart in the British / Polish service-rifle parallel.
