Howa Machinery in Japan manufactures the action; Weatherby in the US handles the finishing and the Weatherby-specific calibre offerings (.240 Wby, .257 Wby, .300 Wby Magnum). The two-tier brand relationship lets Weatherby cover the budget-to-mid tier ($899–$1,999 CAD) using Howa's manufacturing capacity rather than building its own.
