Disclosures

Holdover's disclosures for sponsorships, affiliate links, merch, gear coverage, tools, and publication ownership.

Last updated: May 19, 2026

Holdover is published by Steve Coppola through Input UX Inc. in Ottawa, Ontario. It is an independent Canadian firearms publication and tool site.

Editorial Independence

Holdover may publish opinion, analysis, tools, guides, reviews, and reference material. Editorial conclusions should not be sold, traded, or promised in exchange for access, samples, advertising, or sponsorship.

When a commercial relationship is relevant to a page, it should be disclosed on that page.

The publication's default posture is simple: readers should know when money, access, samples, affiliate links, or a business relationship could reasonably affect how they interpret a recommendation or conclusion. That does not mean every mention of a product is sponsored. It means the relevant relationship should be visible when one exists.

If Holdover uses affiliate links, paid placements, sponsorships, borrowed gear, discounted products, or provided samples in a way that could affect how a reader interprets coverage, the relationship should be disclosed near the relevant content.

Receiving a product does not guarantee coverage or a positive conclusion.

If Steve buys a firearm, optic, component, course, range membership, tool, or accessory with his own money and later writes about it, that can be described as owner experience rather than sponsored coverage. If a company provides or discounts something for review, the article should say so.

Merch

Holdover merch is sold through a third-party merch provider. Product selection, checkout, payment processing, fulfillment, shipping, and returns may be handled offsite by that provider.

Tools And Calculators

Holdover tools are educational aids. They can help with thinking, comparison, practice, and planning, but they are not a substitute for current law, certified instruction, manufacturer documentation, safe range procedures, or professional advice.

Tool outputs should be treated as estimates or practice aids unless the page says otherwise. Range, loading, legal, storage, transportation, or purchase decisions remain the reader's responsibility.
