The FN F2000 is FN Herstal's bullpup 5.56 rifle — adopted by Slovenian Armed Forces in 2008 and several other smaller national military services. Civilian semi-automatic export variants reached the Canadian market in small specialty quantities through the 2010s at the $3,500–$5,000 CAD premium tier. The F2000 sits in the bullpup-civilian-export cluster alongside the FN SCAR 16S (Batch 2, conventional layout), the IWI Tavor TAR21 (Batch 2, bullpup competitor), and the Steyr AUG (Batch 5, the bullpup that started the category). SOR/2020-96 named the FN F2000 on May 1, 2020 alongside the rest of the FN civilian rifle catalogue.
