Carmel *in stock*, with a dealer trip still to come

North Sylva gives the 16-inch Carmel a dealer-shipping window. Current Canadian listings still separate distributor stock, retail receipt, and the longer CSR18 order queue.

North Sylva advertised the 16-inch IWI Carmel as in stock on October 19 and gave its Canadian dealers a shipping window of seven to ten business days. The model on that notice is CSR16. For someone following the longer CSR18 preorder, those last five characters deserve a careful look.

The announcement gives buyers a more specific supply answer. It also leaves a journey between the distributor's notice, a dealer receiving its rifles, and a customer collecting an order. Bullseye North's current CSR16 page makes that visible: it offers the rifle for preorder and expressly says it is awaiting stock.

I like seeing a Canadian rifle listing acquire something more useful than another photograph. My next question is whose shelf the rifle has reached. That answer affects when I would expect to pay, finish the transaction, and start planning a range trip. An optic can spend quite a while waiting for the rifle it was bought for.

The October notice names six dealers

North Sylva's October 19 post identifies CSR16 and names Bullseye North, Canfirearm, Firearms Outlet Canada, Gunsmith Canada, Select Shooting Supplies, and Uxbridge Arms as stocking dealers.

Its seven-to-ten-business-day wording concerns shipping to those dealers. The post supplies no quantity, tracking record, confirmed dealer receipt, or customer delivery date. We can report the distributor's statement; we have no independent view inside its receiving area.

That distinction has a practical use. A buyer who sees the announcement can ask the named seller whether its allocation has been confirmed, received, or made available for an existing order. Each answer describes a different point in the transaction. A dealer's name on the distributor's list also leaves the number of rifles and the order queue unanswered.

Bullseye still describes a preorder

Checked on October 20, Bullseye North's CSR16 listing shows C$2,199.99 and expects receipt by October 23. Its prominent preorder notice says the item is not currently in stock and will ship after receipt. The page warns that the date, price, or available quantity may change.

Bullseye requires full payment, excludes layaway, and says a preorder may be cancelled for a full refund before the rifles actually arrive there. It also says customer shipment follows restricted-transfer approval. Those are this retailer's terms at this check, rather than terms we can assign to every dealer on North Sylva's list.

The distributor's business-day window and Bullseye's October 23 estimate remain separate statements. The sources do not explain how the two estimates fit together. Adding seven or ten days to a calendar and presenting the answer as a promised doorstep date would give the buyer more certainty than either source supplies.

For an existing order, the useful follow-up is the seller's current answer about that order: which configuration, which allocation, whether the rifle has arrived, and which remaining step controls release to the customer. The short word "available" can leave all of those details open.

CSR16 and CSR18 need separate answers

The new North Sylva notice concerns the 16-inch CSR16, which it and Bullseye market as restricted. Bullseye's separate CSR18 listing identifies the 18.6-inch configuration, markets it as non-restricted, and shows a C$2,499 price.

At this check, that CSR18 page says out of stock, gives an early-November estimate, and says orders placed after May 30 are outside the first shipment. Those details belong to that particular listing and queue. The CSR16 announcement cannot establish where a CSR18 customer's order sits.

Canfirearm's CSR18 offer also remains a backorder. It shows C$2,499 with a C$125 deposit option. Its deposit terms say the full amount becomes due when the shipment arrives, while its warning leaves import quantities unconfirmed and delays possible.

These are attributed Canadian sales descriptions. We have not independently established a new classification decision for an individual rifle. A family name, a product photograph, or a barrel figure by itself leaves too much out of the exact-configuration question.

IWI's manufacturer page is useful for the underlying Carmel design. A US catalogue cannot establish a Canadian seller's allocation, price, or delivery promise. The model code and the specific Canadian offer need to travel together.

The next useful answer comes from the seller

Holdover's earlier Carmel preorder opinion dealt with deposits and buying pressure. The October notice adds a narrower piece of news: a dated CSR16 distributor stock claim and a stated dealer-shipping window, alongside current retail pages that still await receipt.

Canadian licensed owners deserve clear, ordinary stock information. There is room to welcome another documented supply update while keeping each seller's wording intact. The next useful confirmation will be the dealer identifying the exact rifle it has received and explaining what remains before that particular customer can collect it.
